Sargento Patacas 22 Jun, pm. I own you my life. Thanks for the help! AlfieS8r 28 Feb, pm. I am not talking about the user's tags. I am talking about the store's tags. You are inventing your own rules. Multiplayer is the generic term that covers all types of multiplayer modes. Coop is a generic term that covers all types of cooperative play.
Just click the multiplayer tag in the game's page and see some of the game sin the list not matching your criterias. Also check the "sort by tags" options to the right of the page and see the specific tag for online multiplayer and online coop. Last edited by BlackShark 3D ; 16 Oct, am. The first time I answered, I clicked the tag in the shop to double-check. It directs to Steam's the search engine. The tag filter list has 9 entries for defining the number of players, and there are no accompanying descriptions.
I am curious as to where you found your "only 4 official tags" with descriptions. What is that "Multi-player", there's any way to play a multi-player game isntead of Online and Local? Same as Coop, there's anyway to play Coop without being Online and local? It doesn't make any sense because you are trying to assign a very specific meaning to a generic term.
Multiplayer does not convey any information regarding the game rules nor the technical requirements : it is an overarching term that contains all the other. It is very common on consoles but it is very rare on PC. I believe Steam added this category recently. Local multiplayer means the players are in the same place. You could even use it for turn games.
And just like you said : it does not say anything regarding the game mode, LP, because that is not the point of the tag. If you want to define the game rules, you need a system that is way more flexible than Album) versus and coop. Otherwise you'd be really stuck when a game has both team vs team gamesor worse : when the rules change dynamically during the same game Unreal Tournement 3 Betrayal mode for example.
That's what the user's tags are for. Last edited by BlackShark 3D ; 16 Oct, pm. Desiire View Profile View Posts. The difference between multiplayer, local MP and online MP is that regular multi means that two or more players can play on the Album) machine one with keyboard, one with a controller for example. The same applies for coop. Multiplayer means multiple people can play the game on the same computer, not neccesarily cooperatively.
